However, if this is specifically happening when you are applying the brakes, it is most likely due to the fact that you have bad brake pads. The brake pads may be wearing unevenly. They might even be catching on the rotors. Either way, this is causing the vehicle to swerve a little when you quickly apply the brakes.
You Hear Some Grinding Noises
Hearing a grinding noise when you apply pressure to the brakes is a clear sign that something is wrong. This type of symptom usually comes as a result of the brake pads becoming so worn that there is really nothing left other than the metal that was holding the pads. That metal is then rubbing against the metal rotors when you try to stop or slow down your vehicle. This metal-on-metal rubbing is what is producing the grinding sound that you are now hearing.
Now that you have those few things in mind, it should be a lot easier for you to understand whether it might be time to take your vehicle to the brake repair shop.
